Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis PPMS- walking after 2y wheelchair

Petros Kattou from Cyprus SOZO Braincenter sends a Video-Testimonial, this are all his words

🧠 FROM PARAPLEGIA TO WALKING — AFTER 2 YEARS

A young international patient from Kosovo, a talented software engineer educated and working in Vienna, developed severe neurological disability following the second dose of the COVID-19 mRNA vaccine — despite strictly following MS treatment protocols with his Austrian neurologists.

🧬 He was soon unable to stand or walk, with lower motor neuron (LMN) and upper motor neuron (UMN) involvement, and plaque lesions in the cervical spine and subcortical brain.

Desperate for a solution, he underwent Autologous Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation (AHSCT) in Russia — costing over €55,000.00 (excluding travel and accommodation).

🧪 Although the procedure slowed the progression of MS, it left him with intense spasticity and loss of function in his left upper limb.

💡 He arrived at SOZΩ Brain Center in a wheelchair — and what followed was nothing short of a miracle.

💥 Through our patented FNON (Functional Network Operating Neuromodulation) protocols, we applied:
✅ taVNS (Transcutaneous Auricular Vagus Nerve Stimulation)
✅ Dual-Channel HDC-STIM (Newronika)
✅ TPS Neurolith (STORZ Medical, off-label for MS)

🔬 This powerful neuromodulation strategy targeted neuroinflammation, spinal plaques, and cortico-subcortical disconnection.

🧍‍♂️ After two years in a wheelchair, he stood and walked with support.

💬 “After everything failed, SOZΩ Brain gave me a second life.”

Dr. Retzek: We are the first SOZO Brain Center outside of Cyprus and have TPS, HDC-STIM, and the latest generation of taVNS available.

As of August 2025, I have increased our staff by two nurses, significantly expanding our capacity.

Just to know: the whole treatment isn’t cheap

What Petros doesn’t mention in this email are his costs:

  • One TPS treatment costs €1,000 (6-8 are planned) – as SOZO Fellow I must keep this price otherwise I get kicked out by Petros
  • HDC-Stim for home treatment costs €3,200 in his clinic (€2,600 in our practice),
  • The new German taVNS with 15 approved diagnoses comes to around €3,000 (I won’t be able to be much cheaper).

Petros told me about this yesterday on a video call: “…Heli, I’m sorry, it just costs so much, but it’s the best device! We’re SOZO – we simply use the best technology, and if it costs so much, then that’s just how it is. I’m not making any more compromises; I want success, and that comes with the latest, best technology…”

This are just the device prices and does not include his appointment, as well as the 8-10 treatments there, probably add up to another 2,000.-.

But Petros then puts together “therapy packages” that cost only 11,000 instead of 14,000, for example.

But—I can say this—he also treats many patients free of charge or offers large discounts, sometimes even below cost. I’ve been to his clinic seven times and sat next to him for many days; I know very few who pay the full price.

On the other hand, compared to a stay in a Swiss clinic or stem cell therapy, it’s a fraction of the cost – and it helps!

I might also add (gossip)

For “high rollers” (really expensive, important patients), he charges 200,000-300,000 for this therapy because he has to shut down the other patients, sign NDA …..
But they don’t even bat an eyebrow and just say, “I have a private plane, when can I come?”

– because Petros has a nine-month wait, and an important golfer or industrialist has to go and earns 100 fold in this time, so these fees are trivial for them.
