Petros Kattou — Biography and Description of His Work
Who is Dr. Petros Kattou
Dr. Petros Kattou is an Australian Osteopath (DO). He studied in Australia at Western Sydney University and began working as a lecturer at the university early on. (cases-neuromodulation.info) He also worked as a behavior scientist in the Australian Army to finance his studies. (ganzemedizin.at) For personal reasons, he moved to Cyprus, where his family comes from, in 2012.
Personal Medical Experience
After a serious traffic accident with fractures of the cervical vertebrae C1 and C2, Dr. Kattou suffered long-lasting, extreme pain. Numerous surgeries led to only slight and mostly short-term improvements, sometimes even worsening the condition. He was temporarily wheelchair-dependent. (ganzemedizin)
A turning point was his encounter with neuromodulation, specifically the use of a brainstem stimulator (pSTIM), which enabled him to quickly eliminate his pain. (ganzemedizin).

Awards
SOZO received the Gold Award at the Cyprus Healthcare Business Awards in 2024.- SOZO also received an award at the International Shockwave Symposium in Istanbul in April 2025.
- In July 2025, the Cyprus Innovation Prize was again awarded, accompanied by two grants of 0.5 million and 10 million euros for research.
- Dr. Kattou himself received the Innovation Prize at the World Changer Summit in October 2025 in Rome (Vatican), where he was also knighted as “SIR” (an award for which two kings must vote).
