LDN is helpful for CFS fatigue syndrome

-

A study shows that in CFS (chronic fatigue syndrome) = myalgic encephalopathy, symptoms could be noticeably improved with LDN within one month.

We routinely use low-dose naltrexone for cancer, multiple sclerosis, fibromyalgia, depression, autoimmune diseases, and the desire to conceive –> see my LDN main page and the many additional pages.

CFS = chronic viral infection, primarily Epstein-Barr, but also Cytomegalovirus, Coronavirus, and Mycoplasma fermentans, which leads to a permanent switch of the body to the Cell Danger Response. Accompanied by chronic brain inflammation due to microglia activation, presumably also caused by multiple viruses (Borna?).

Today, a report was published from a clinical trial that clinically and scientifically proves LDN as an option for this disease:

Inspired by patient reports of improved symptoms of chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) after initiating treatment with low-dose naltrexone, a group of Australian and Japanese researchers decided to investigate the mechanism by which these patients benefited from LDN.

Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) – also called myalgic encephalomyelitis (ME) – is a debilitating multisystem disease. The often severe symptoms of CFS include extreme fatigue, sleep problems, muscle/joint pain, headaches, throat/gland pain, cognitive difficulties, dizziness, and heart palpitations. The cause is currently unknown, and there are few identified treatments.

The study, conducted by researchers at Griffith University and Aichi-Gaku University, compared nine patients with CFS who took 3.0–4.5 mg of LDN for at least four weeks with nine healthy participants who did not take LDN.

The CFS patients reported improved thinking/concentration, less cognitive overload, and fewer immune disorders (fewer sore throats, enlarged/tender lymph nodes, colds/flu) after taking LDN.

In unraveling the mechanism by which LDN helps, the study found that patients with CFS/ME who took LDN had their previously dysfunctional cell activities restored (Cell Danger Response).

Specifically, they found that LDN restored TRPM3-like dysfunction, an impairment known to be associated with CFS but previously lacking effective treatment.

LDN suffered the same fate as ivermectin. As soon as it became known that it slowed tumor growth by about 40%, it was actively opposed in the USA. For two decades now, I have observed doctors “begging” for LDN to be approved, because in the USA, doctors who use drugs off-label for new indications lose their licenses.
