Last week, there was a wonderful meeting and exchange: the very first Coimbra doctor in Europe, Dr. Johannes Demuth from Munich, visited our practice.
I was in awe of this “high-ranking visitor.”
Though I met Johannes once before with Prof. Coimbra and Prof. Jörg Spitz in Frankfurt in 2018.
also to “take a look at this new neuromodulation,” which was presented to him as an interesting innovation by our most important Coimbra EU representative: Christina Kiening.
May 2025 – KOS Neptun Resort / Greece
We met Christina Kiening again by accitent in May on the Greek island of KOS at a holistic medicine conference where Petros and I gave a lecture on neuromodulation to several doctors.
I have Christina to thank for my contact with Prof. Coimbra
In October 2017, Christina called me and offered me a training position “next week” with Prof. Coimbra in Sao Paolo. “It would be the last training group this year and possibly the last opportunity ever, as Prof. Coimbra had trained enough doctors by now and wanted to stop.”
Well, I jumped at the chance and, along with Edmund Blab and Uta Santos, was one of the first in Europe and the first physician in Austria to complete the training with the “master” myself.
By looking at the old pictures of 2018 I actually found my original certificate from Prof. Coimbra!
In any case, I was always grateful to her because she enabled me to learn this wonderful method, which produces simply outstanding results for patients with remitting (earlier) MS. In MY practice, I’ve had a 98% relapse-free rate in SR-MS cases since 2018 using the Coimbra protocol.
The chronically progressive cases, on the other hand, hardly respond at all; it’s a shame!
Lectures at KOS May 2025
At the KOS conference, I presented testimonial videos from about 20 patients, which are also available here on the website. Petros then went even further with live treatments – I think almost all of the doctors present signed up for a course!
No wonder! As an experienced holistic physician, anyone who is presented with such cases in such a high volume via video cannot help but say: I have to learn this

By the way: this holistic medicine conference in KOS in May is fantastic, the location at the Neptun Luxury Resort is unique, and in May you can already go swimming and experience absolute summer feelings this weekend! A cheap flight of about 2.5 hours from Vienna – great!
Johannes Demuth is truly a brother in spirit!
Such biographical similarities are rare!
Johannes also embraces almost anything “new” if it is demonstrated to him as effective by patients – not by pharmaceutical representatives.
He also drives – like me – an old, second hand car because his “little private clinic” is not carrying big “Doctor” cars – not to even think of a “Masserati”
So, like me, he also was motivated by Christina Kiening – he came to Sao Paolo to see Prof. Cicero Coimbra –
and soon also to Petros Kattou at the Brain Center in Nicosia!
In KOS, I also met Prof. Jörg Spitz again
the oldfather of the German vitamin D success story. Prof. Spitz had also invited Prof. Coimbra to Germany to give lectures in 2018.
And – unbelievably – I met him again a month later in Nicosia.
It’s already starting to feel like a permanent vacation with friends! When we were in Nicosia for a week in June 2025 to be trained in our new TPS, we were surprised to find Prof. Jörg Spitz there again – just met him in KOS,
Prof. Spitzt was also doing an internship at the Brain Center and was looking at “the hyper” there on site. His daughter is resident of Australia and wants to promote Neuromodulation in Australia – Petros is going this Month to Sidney to give his first training there – together with his Australien Univ-Prof. Nic Lucas.
God help me that at his age (Prof. Jorg Spitz is > 80), I still want to explore and explore new developments – and still be on such good terms!
Kurt Bauer – Documentary Filmmaker and Author
By the way, we were accompanied by documentary filmmaker Kurt Bauer from Obertrum, who is currently making a film about neuromodulation and was completely thrilled and overwhelmed by the cases he saw and experienced in Nicosia.
Kurt was there with his camera as a patient with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis was able to stand up and walk again for the first time after three sessions of TPS and tDCS!

And – who would have beliefed that – two weeks ago – just 2 weeks after Nicosia, I spent a weekend with Kurt and Petros at the Valtopedi Monastery on Mount Athos.
Kurt actually had the balls to sing along to the Byzantine chants during the service.
Petros takes us to Abbot Ephraim
It must be something very special—I wasn’t really aware of it at the time, but to be admitted to the Abbot and blessed by him, you wait months or even years. Petros often visits Athos and has good connections there, and he often talks about it.
It was a wonderful journey into a completely foreign and new world, and thanks to his many visits to Mount Athos, Kurt was able to give me a great deal of understanding of the very different spiritual world of Orthodoxy.
