Currently, neuromodulation, alongside Rilutec, is the only scientifically validated therapy with at least temporary, measurable success in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).
I have summarized the published facts about tDCS therapy for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis in a separate post:
Amyotrophic Lateralsclerose – Neuromodulation could be helpful
Petros has since pushed the boundaries even further.
For the past four months, Petros has been treating a patient from the USA with fairly advanced bulbar ALS who was already on a PEG tube and CPAP mask breathing, with a neurofilament level of 50 (normal range up to 2.3).
After four months of Petros-modified tDCS therapy (four different tDCS montages per day), the patient, who has his neurofilament levels measured monthly, now has an NF level of only 1.3 – which is within the healthy range. After the first month, it was 30, then 10, then 2.5, and now 1.3.
Yesterday there was a video conference with the patient in the USA. The patient’s breathing has now normalized to the point that he no longer needs a breathing mask. Swallowing and initial speech are now possible, and he can now move his fingers slightly – but he can.
After the first month, it was 30, then 10, then 2.5, and now 1.3 Neurofilaments
Disclaimer
Please note, this report is by no means a “cure” for this terrible disease.
We do not want to raise false hopes here.
However, for the first time, this single case has shown a complete normalization of the objective laboratory values as well as a slight improvement in the existing clinical symptoms.
Therefore, we can currently assume that the disease has come to a standstill for the time being and is moving in the right direction, even if only minimally.
This is at least encouraging for all of us!
However, the four tDCS injections per day in home therapy for the caregivers certainly represent a considerable amount of work!
Neuromodulation is not a very expensive treatment.
The costs of this therapy are quite manageable. The tDCS device, Newronika, costs less than €3,000 at our practice (prices vary between practices, with the usual range being €2,600-€5,000), plus the cost of the medical training.
The therapy is a self-administered home therapy and does not incur any additional costs.
TPS is the next big step in treatment
Off-label use of transcranial pulse stimulation in ALS—especially the bulbar form—is also a great help, as
- very rapid improvements are seen through nerve reactivation
- in the long term, genuine regeneration takes place through stem cell induction
Petros has used it to get several ALS patients out of their wheelchairs. Irini—the captain of the German women’s national football team—is a well-known social media case study. We’ve succeeded in doing this with at least 2 out of 6 patients.
I’ve written a detailed article about the background of off-label TPS treatment.
viral Instagram videos –> Many ALS inquiries
We can only accept a limited number of ALS patients (who mostly come in wheelchairs) because our current practice location doesn’t allow for it. My old-fashioned homeopathic practice isn’t wheelchair accessible. We’re looking for a new location.
Therefore, I only take on one ALS patient per week, but there are significantly more inquiries.
My secretary has been asking me for weeks to compile a list of alternative doctors where patients can go.
Attention: PETROS receives up to 5,000 appointment requests per week due to his worldwide Instagram following. It’s unbelievable; patients simply fly to Cyprus without an appointment and show up at the clinic just trying to be “accepted.”
Doctors who accept ALS patients for neuromodulation
Here is a list of well-trained SOZO Fellows with sufficient capacity in their practices who accept patients with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis for neuromodulation.
- Dr. Helmut Retzek in Vöcklabruck has a TPS device.
- Dr. Atel Hemat in Cologne also has a TPS device; he loves these patients.
- Dr. Ralf Heinrich in Berlin even has two TPS devices.
- Dr. Hans Schönberger in Bayrischzell has a TPS device.
- Dr. Sven Seewald in Bregenz will soon receive a TPS device.
- Dr. Carmen Putz in Illmitz does not have a TPS device.
- Dr. Rahman Runa in Vienna does not have a TPS device.
- Dr. hc. Sir Petros Kattou in Nicosia and Limassol has a TPS device.
- Dr. Simon Yu, St. Louis / USA
- Drs Thomas & Steph Chaney, Baltimor / Maryland / USA
If I’ve forgotten you, esteemed colleague, and you’d like to take on ALS patients, please call me. As a fellow SOZO patient, you already have my private number.
