Update Stefan - Parkinson's Disease, Stage 4 - After 3 Years of Neuromodulation
Stefan is my FIRST Parkinson's patient treated with neuromodulation. His first video went viral, and as a result Stefan has become very well known.
Stefan paid us a brief visit in Vöcklabruck
on August 20, 2026 - almost exactly 3 years after we started neuromodulation. In July

stopped Neuromodulation - crisis happened
Earlier this year, in spring, Stefan went through a serious crisis. He had decided to try a new frequency therapy and, in order to do so, stopped the neuromodulation treatment that he normally performs himself at home three times a week.
Two weeks after stopping neuromodulation, he went into a complete freeze. Stefan literally had to be carried into our practice. He was unable to take a single step.
When we restarted neuromodulation, he was able to walk home again almost normally. We subsequently performed six sessions of TPS (= Transcranial Pulse Stimulation) and reactivated the affected brain regions. Since then, he has once again been doing remarkably well, as you can clearly see in the video!
What makes me happiest is always seeing the return of spontaneous body movements and, above all, his facial expressions - the complete absence of the typical masked face!
Is Stefan cured?
No, certainly not! Parkinson's is a severe degenerative disease. What we can achieve with neuromodulation is to compensate for its functional effects remarkably well. This means that, overall, Stefan has slowly improved over time and, as long as he continues the treatment regularly, he remains relatively free of symptoms.
In 2023, largely because of Stefan, I started looking deeply into the genetic and biochemical background of Parkinson's disease and wrote a detailed article about it.

Could a fungal infection in the brain be a trigger?
According to Professor Willi Eisner, former Head of the Department of Neurosurgery at the Medical University of Innsbruck, Parkinson's disease may, in his view, potentially involve a fungal infection of the brain.
Professor Eisner has observed substantial improvements in affected patients after prescribing intensive and very prolonged antifungal treatment regimens, in some cases lasting up to two years.
Professor Eisner has been trying to communicate these observations to the relevant medical specialists for the past 25 years. So far, without much success. However, he recently received confirmation from colleagues at the University Hospital Zurich that they are now able to confirm his observations. Hopefully, this may eventually lead to formal studies investigating this hypothesis.
I have also written a separate article discussing research by a Spanish group that investigated a range of neurological diseases and reported fungal material within brain tissue, including neurons. This is certainly a remarkable finding. After isolating cell nuclei, the researchers even reported fungal proteins within the nuclei themselves.

From the studies I cited there ....
.... DNA extracted from frozen neural tissue identified a variety of fungal genera including Candida, Malassezia, Fusarium, Botrytis, Trichoderma and Cryptococcus. Overall, our present observations provide strong evidence for mixed fungal infections in ALS patients. The exact mixed infection varies from patient to patient consistent with the different evolution and severity of symptoms in each ALS patient. ....
Stefan - first appointment in August 2023
This was shortly after my first training with Petros Kattou. In July 2023, and then again in August 2023, I had the opportunity to receive my first introduction to neuromodulation in Cyprus, back then in Petros' very small practice. Today, Petros heads several large clinics, has been knighted as a SIR, is being awarded two honorary doctorates, and has become a worldwide phenomenon.

Please watch the entire video. The improvement after just 10 minutes of neuromodulation is quite dramatic.
